Manual therapy in Tilburg

Manual therapy is a specialised form of physiotherapy that focuses on improving joint mobility and reducing pain. At Fysio Fitaal in Tilburg, we offer professional manual therapy to help you with various spinal and joint complaints. Our manual therapist in Tilburg is able to offer a solution to people with physical complaints and injuries by bringing scientific insights and experience together in practice. The therapist is able to perform manipulation, also known as squatting. This can be compared to cracking from chiropractic. The effects of treatment in manual therapy are often immediate and provide quick pain relief.

Manual therapy treatment

A manual therapist specialises in treating complaints related to the musculoskeletal system, such as muscles, joints and the spine. Treatment may consist of different techniques:

  • Mobilisations: Gentle, rhythmic movements that improve joint mobility and reduce pain.
  • Manipulations: Quick, controlled techniques (also known as 'cracking') to improve joint function. This is similar to chiropractic, but specifically tailored to physiotherapy care.
  • Muscle and tissue techniques: Aimed at reducing muscle tension and improving blood flow, making muscles recover faster.
  • Exercise therapy: Specific exercises to improve strength, coordination and endurance and promote recovery.
  • Advice and information: You will get practical tips on posture and movement so that complaints can be prevented in the future.

Our therapists always start with a comprehensive intake and examination to create a tailor-made treatment plan.

At Physio Fitaal, we understand that each person is unique and deserves a personalised approach. Our aim is not only to provide relief from your current symptoms, but also to guide you towards an active, healthier life. We are committed to providing the highest quality of care, using a range of proven manual techniques specifically tailored to your individual needs.

Benefits of manual therapy

Manual therapy offers several benefits for people with joint and muscle problems. By applying specific techniques, this treatment method helps reduce pain and stiffness, while increasing joint mobility. This makes it particularly effective for complaints such as headaches, neck and back pain, which often stem from reduced mobility of the spine.

In addition, manual therapy contributes to active posture and increased range of motion, which is essential for an active and pain-free life. Manual therapy can also benefit other injuries and overuse complaints by speeding up the recovery process. At Physio Fitaal Tilburg experienced therapists work with a personal and targeted approach to ensure optimal results. Whether you are struggling with chronic complaints or recovering from an injury, manual therapy helps you move smoothly and pain-free again.

What can you expect?

During your first appointment at Physio Fitaal Tilburg the manual therapist discusses your symptoms and conducts a thorough physical examination. Based on this, a personal treatment plan is drawn up, tailored to your situation and goals. Most treatments are pain-free and often provide immediate relief. Sometimes a slight post-treatment pain may occur, similar to muscle pain, but this usually disappears within 24 to 48 hours.

Through a combination of mobilisation techniques and targeted exercise therapy, we work together to achieve sustainable recovery and optimal movement patterns. At Physio Fitaal Tilburg we strive not only to help you get rid of your symptoms, but also to make your body stronger and more resilient, thus preventing your symptoms in the future.

Reimbursement from supplementary insurance

With most health insurers, manual therapy falls under the reimbursement budget for physiotherapy in the supplementary policy. In other words, from the part of your supplementary insurance earmarked for physiotherapy, the costs of manual therapy are usually also reimbursed.

Limited number of treatments
Increasingly, however, health insurers are placing a cap on the number of manual therapy treatments reimbursed within the total number of physiotherapy treatments. For example, you may be entitled to 18 physiotherapy treatments per year, of which a maximum of nine may be for manual therapy. In some cases, this maximum may depend on the specific indication.

What else you need to know

  • You no longer need a doctor's referral letter to get reimbursed for treatments.
  • No excess applies to care reimbursed from the supplementary insurance. That excess applies only to care paid for from the basic insurance.
