Reimbursements in 2024

Physiotherapy is in most cases not reimbursed from the basic insurance. To be reimbursed for the treatment, you need to have Physical Therapy in your supplementary health insurance. If you do not have supplementary insurance, the treatments are at your own expense. There are a few exceptions when Physical Therapy is covered by the basic health insurance:

  • Physical therapy due to rehabilitation after surgery.
  • Physical therapy for conditions listed for chronic physical therapy.
  • Physical therapy when you are under 18. Usually 18 treatments per year.
  • Physical therapy after corona complaints. This must be a severe form. The doctor or medical specialist will decide. It is about 50 treatments which can be prolonged once by 6 months.
